Salah out of UEFA prizes .. Mani competes with Messi and Cristiano

UEFA announced on Thursday the nominees for the Champions of the Year (2018/2019).

Liverpool won the Champions League after beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0, but their top scorer, Mohamed Salah, was knocked out of the tournament.

UEFA revealed the three nominees for last season's Champions League best goalkeeper, where Brazilian Allison (Liverpool), Frenchman Hugo Lloris (Tottenham Hotspur) and German Mark Andre Ter Stegen (Barcelona) are competing.

Liverpool's Trent Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, along with Juventus's newly-handed Matthias de Licht, are vying for the title of best defender.

He added that the trio of Jordan Henderson, Frankie de Jong and Christian Eriksen, are battling for the best midfielder of the season.

Lionel Messi, the all-time top scorer in the Champions League, and Sadio Mane (Liverpool) and Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus) are among the favorites.
